Gisele Bündchen Goes Goth For Givenchy's Spring / Summer 2012 Campaign

We've already seen Gisele Bündchen oiled-up and basking in blue light for Versace's Spring / Summer 2012 campaign, and now the leggy lovely is doing her thang for Givenchy. But this time, she's more gothy than glossy, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot against a pick-up truck on a stormy beach, flanked by black surf boards and two brooding males (hellooo Chris Moore and Simone Nobili).

The Brazilian supermodel has been transformed into a Givenchy girl thanks to tousled hair, a feisty leather ensemble and strappy heels, accessorised with a sharp-toothed black dog - as you do for a day on the beach. But this is more moody sea creature than perky surfer chick and Riccardo Tisci describes the campaign's atmosphere as 'the expression of a love story between a surfer and a mermaid.' Hmm, we can't help but be reminded a tad of 'Twilight' and all that ominous darkness screams 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo', dontcha think?

As you know, Gisele closed the fashion house's catwalk show for S/S'12 and she's been riding the Givenchy wave ever since, causing more than a few ripples in Fash Land. Can the toned-and-tanned Victoria's Secret Angel really pull off that rock'n'roll with a French sizzle edge? Well, the proof is in the pudding (ie: yes).

Plus, to appease the critics, WWD reports Riccardo Tisci’s longtime muse, Mariacarla Boscono, will join Gisele in forthcoming images set to be released. So while we wait for the full results, let's hear your thoughts on Gisele as a Givenchy goth...
