Raoul is a label for the classicist. It's luxe, timeless, elegant and pretty damn fabulous. It's the thinking woman's brand and focuses on the basics of tailoring and the refinement of aesthetics… all lovely but I'm not very refined! I love Ashish and anything that sparkles. Yes I appreciate classics but I'm a grungey girl at heart so I wondered if I could transform my faraway appreciation of the brand into cold hard wardrobe space. I did!
There's something innately stylish and sophisticated about Raoul pieces that makes you feel like a grown up as soon as you slip into their silks or shroud yourself in one of their leather trimmed capes. There are references to the clean lines and spare tailoring of the late 60’s and early 70’s, a nod to the reinterpreted minimalism of the 90’s that's so perfect for right now. And for always really!
And it's not just me and the rest of Grazia girls that are into it; Blake Lively, Elle McPherson and Glee’s Lea Michele are also fans. And hey, if it's good enough for The Body who are we to argue?!
Pictured below are some of my favourite pieces from the current collection…
1. Silk and leather; it doesn't get much better than this. Navy at it's best, it's a simple play on the texture mash up that we're all loving this season, and there's even a hint of Chloe about it. I teamed it with old boyfriend jeans and my favourite Topshop metallic heels and tan belt and bag…
2. A floor length voluminous navy dress was never on my hit list, until now. The white leather halter neckline keeps it modern and cool but this is a dress that just begs to be twirled in! Throw on dalmation Docs to mess it up a bit.
3. I love a good midi and this tomato red wool one is on-so grown up. A-line and pocketed it's the perfect Christmas day skirt! A bomber and lace up boots and you're done.
4. The bag, oh that bag. The Celine vibe was enough to get me. The simple lines, the gold buckle, the slick leather and touches of suede. PLUS, you can lengthen the strap and wear it across the body. Win.
Do you love it as much as us?! Which is your favourite?
