Poptastic graphics and cheesy music at the ready, kids, because it’s time for the top ten most searched fashion brands online!
Bing.com has released their annual list of most searched fashion brands, and top of the table is Gucci, which was also the most searched brand last year. Ralph Lauren, no doubt buoyed up by the extravagant David Lauren and Lauren Bush nuptials last month, hotly follows Gucci at number two. Last year’s number two, Chanel, fell to number five this year.
In at number three is Y-3 which is interesting because it’s the only collab line on the list (between Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, neither of whom make the top ten independently) and also because its following is more music video-led than read-carpet based, with Lupe Fiasco, Cher Lloyd and Cheryl Cole all fans.
Burberry is the only UK label on the list – congratulations to the lovely Christopher Bailey on that – helping to reaffirm the label’s position as the UK superbrand. John Galliano makes number nine, for understandable reasons, and Coco Chanel retains her place in fashion history by making number eight, 40 years after her death.
However the biggest surprise is that there’s no Alexander McQueen on the list, even after a gazillion people watched the royal wedding and attended both the Savage Beauty exhibition and the Buckingham Palace summer show, which included Kate Middleton’s wedding dress. Surprising, no?
