We chat to Giles Deacon about Kylie and Meadham Kirchoff about Red Carpet dressing at the British Fashion Awards!

Last night the British Fashion Awards was a veritable who's who of British Fashion. We chased Giles Deacon down a corridor to get some vital information out of him, and this is what he told us!

Grazia Daily: Giles where d do you think you’re going? We need to talk about your outfit!

Giles Deacon: I’m wearing a Mulberry velvet jacket, Carhart cammo trousers, some lovely Louboutin shoes, Uniqlo socks and a nice white shirt.

GD: Lovely! Do you ever get jealous of girls on the red carpet because they get to dress up a bit more than boys?

Giles: No. Ha ha. I’ve gone a little bit alternative, with my trousers today and besides, I think girls look absolutely lovely and that is what is important.

GD: We were reading the Independent on Sunday yesterday. [Containing an interview which details an encounter between Giles, Katie Grand and Kylie a few years back]

Giles: Oh yes!

GD: What’s all this about you and Kylie Minogue? We had no idea!

Giles: Oh, that old thing. I thought that story was buried and gone away! Ah, seriously though, I was talking to her the other week and she’s doing really well!

GD: Who, Kylie? What is she up to at the moment?

Giles: She’s in Australia. She went on Australian X Factor wearing one of our pieces!

GD: Blimey!

And THEN who should we catch? But those lovely Meadham Kirchhoff boys! Edward MMeadham and Ben Kirchhoff . . .

GD: What are you wearing Edward?

Edward Meadham: I’ve got a second hand Chanel jacket, two very old shirts of ours, that we made when we were doing menswear. This is a 1920's skirt. Then I’ve got a piece of fluff from the [Meadham Kirchhoff Spring Summer 2012] collection and some ridiculous trousers I found on Brick Lane yesterday.

GD: When you have a big event coming up, do you plan in advance or do you throw everything on the bed and try it on?

EM: Throw everything on the bed, definitely. I had a frantic search for something to wear this evening then I threw it all on the bed today to decide.

GD: One more thing! If Coco Chanel says 'before you go out you should look in the mirror and take one thing off' - ?

EM: Oh no – put several things on! Pile it on, that’s my advice!
