Wow, those H&M folk don’t hang around, do they? The Versace for H&M collection has barely been snatched from the rails and they’re already announcing their new collection… with Marni! Yep, the line – which will include womenswear, menswear and accessories – will hit 260 stores nationwide and online on 8 March 2012.
Even better news? We don’t have to wait feverishly for weeks for a glimpse. This teaser video shows that the collection will stay faithful to Marni’s classic traits – intense prints, a clever colour combination (how much do you love the way that sharp neon green and slubby brown go together), and wickedly bold jewellery. We already wants those silver court shoes and the plastic flower necklace and… oh, you get the picture.
‘Collaborating with H&M has been an exciting challenge,’ says Consuelo Castiglioni, Marni’s Creative Director. ‘I’m very proud of the result. Everything has the same level of quality craft and attention to detail Marni is known for.’
Judging by the mega-success of Versace’s line for H&M, the new designer collaboration is a good move for the Swedish retailers. Donatella Versace’s bling-tastic collection sold out within 24 hours and was deemed such a hit that they’ve already announced a second range, due to hit stores on 19 January. Phew!
We’ll keep you posted on every latest scrap of news about the Marni for H&M collection. In the meantime, what’s the betting those H&M folk are already lining up their next big name announcement… now, if only those rumours about Tom Ford were about to come true!
