Olivia Palermo at The British Fashion Awards wearing Matthew Williamson feather dress

Last night's British Fashion Awards 2011 saw many a star take to the red blue carpet in their swanky glad rags, from Alexa Chung to Kate Hudson and Kate Moss. But there was one star who got us super-duper excited: Ms Olivia Palermo. She was at the ceremony to present Mary Katranzou with her Emerging Talent Award and as a self-confessed fan of British fashion, she was clearly in her element. Backstage, we grabbed five minutes with the glossy style icon to talk about Victoria Beckham bags and her love for Grazia Daily (yes, really!).

Grazia Daily: What are you wearing tonight?

Olivia Palermo: I’m in Matthew Williamson, my jewellery is Asprey, my bag is vintage and my shoes are Topshop. I love a great feather and Matthew does it well!

Grazia Daily: Any other favourite British designers?

Olivia Palermo: Oh, so many. Erdem is fantastic, Charlotte Olympia…

Grazia Daily: You’ve just presented Mary Katranzou with the Emerging Talent award, what do you love about her designs?

Olivia Palermo: I think she does very cool prints. When you see them on editorial pages, they definitely pop out. I’m very happy for her.

Grazia Daily: Is there one fashion item you’re lusting after?

Olivia Palermo: There’s so many…but I think a great Victoria Beckham bag.

Grazia Daily: Would you consider releasing a book of style tips?

Olivia Palermo: No, not yet. Maybe when I’m seventy! My blog is my sole focus at the moment.

Grazia Daily: And we hear you’re an avid Grazia reader when you’re in the UK?

Olivia Palermo: Oh no, not just when I’m the UK. I click on Grazia Daily every day!

Grazia Daily: Well, you must see yourself on here A LOT! Thanks for chatting, Olivia *beams*
