One of the many, many things we love about The British Fashion Awards is the chance to catch up with our favourite style icons. At last night's swanky soiree at The Savoy Hotel, Grazia Daily quizzed Caroline Sieber on her love for Christopher Kane and asked Joséphine de La Baume about her Zac Posen wedding dress while Laura Bailey told us about her mahossive hair...
Caroline Sieber in Christopher Kane
What is that you love about Christopher Kane? I really loved his last collection [for Spring / Summer 2012], it was my favourite. I loved the colours, I loved the textures, he really is one of my favourite designers.
We’ve seen you on many a front row – what were your other favourites? Oh, so many, I wouldn’t know where to start. Chanel, of course. I’m wearing a Chanel bag tonight.
What’s been your fashion highlight of 2011? Christopher’s show.
And what do you love about British style? It’s eclectic, there are so many visionaries. It’s something to get very excited about, as we will tonight.
Julien Macdonald and Joséphine de la Baume
Onto Joséphine de la Baume who was at the awards to present her ‘good friend’ Charlotte Olympia with the Best Accessory Designer Award. Mark Ronson's missus looked fierce in a Julien Macdonald dress under a sharp blazer and told us she picked the outfit because 'it’s very well cut and it’s an androgynous look.'
We love your hair – red heads are very popular at the moment. I hope not too popular, I want to keep it to myself.
What do you love most about being a redhead? The solitarity between other people who have red hair. I’m not even a natural redhead.
How long have you been this colour? Maybe two years. I always had a little bit of red in it but I was more blonde.
You made a beautiful bride earlier this year – how long did it take you to pick your wedding dress? Not long because I did it with a good friend, Zac [Posen].
What British designers do you admire? I love Christopher Kane, Richard Nicoll, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, of course. The list is endless…
And who are your fashion icons? Lauren Bacall, Kate Bush...Joan Collins!
Laura Bailey in a Burberry coat
Model and British Fashion Council ambassador Laura Bailey wrapped up against the London chill courtesy of two of the night's nominees - under her belted Burberry coat, she wore a Stella McCartney dress topped off by wonderfully wild tresses.
We saw you on a lot of front rows last season, what were your favourite shows? Definitley Burberry, Christopher Kane…they would be my standout two.
Your hair looks amazing! How do you keep it so luscious? It’s a bit crazy, I should’ve done that checking in the mirror thing but anyway, it’s big! It’s a hangover from a shoot so slightly dreadlocks.
Who are you supporting tonight? Stella [McCartney], Christopher Kane and Charlotte Olympia.
