Amber Le Bon & Tali Lennox Dish on Preparing For The British Fashion Awards

Amber Le Bon wearing Peter Pilotto at the british fashion awards

We can only imagine how much pressure those poor stars must feel as they prepare for a swanky red carpet event like last night's British Fashion Awards. Of course, it's a total doddle when you're a top-notch model not to mention rock royalty offspring. Step forward Amber Le Bon and Tali Lennox who told us about their preparations for the evening...

Talk us through your outfit? I’m wearing a Peter Pilotto dress with Jimmy Choo bag and shoes.

Why did you pick this outfit for tonight? Because it’s fun and it’s a little bit of summer in the winter. I’m trying to cling on to summer.

Who are you routing for this evening? Peter Pilotto.

What’s been your highlight of 2011? I don’t know…it’s just been an exciting year. Probably my birthday!

Do you have any rituals for preparing for an event like this? Not really, I think it’s just what most people’s rituals would be – have a shower, wash my hair, try not to have a last minute panic about what I’m wearing.

How far in advance do you prepare what you’re going to wear? I’m the worst planner, I do things the day before. I’m so bad!

Does your mum give you any tips? She always asks me whether I’m comfortable in what I’m wearing because it shows if you’re not.

We loved it when your hair had pink tips… I’ve now got the blonde ends but you never know, a fun colour might come back. It might not be pink again but you never know.

It’s fun to experiment, isn't it? Exactly!

Tali Lennox wears Mulberry at the British Fashion Awards

And here's the lovely Tali Lennox, aka: Grazia Daily guest blogger, in a floor-sweeping Mulberry gown. Here, she reveals her red carpet rituals...

You look resplendent, why did you chose this dress? It’s really gold, it’s fun. It’s very nice to get dressed up and have something a bit all-out but it’s also really comfortable. There’s nothing worse than being in a really tight dress feeling self conscious and being scared you’re going to rip something. So I went for the whole retro '60s look.

What are your rituals for preparing for the red carpet? Usually, I just do my own hair and makeup but tonight my friend, , did it – she’s a really great makeup artist and she did my hair as well. She came over and we had girlie chats and she gave me a facial so it took a bit longer than usual but usually I just get ready by myself.

With Christmas coming up, what’s on your wishlist? Presents aren’t really a big thing in our family because I don’t need that much. My dad’s going to get me a really nice camera and I want to redecorate my room a little bit so I was looking at vintage wallpapers. So nothing that interesting, maybe some candles! If I want to get things, I like to buy them myself from money I made.

What are you up to next? I’ve got a couple of shoots coming up and I’ve just shot two campaigns with Terry Richardson and I did a Karen Millen campaign and in the next six months to a year, I’d like to start focusing on other things I’d like to do. I’m really passionate about arts so I’m thinking of going to art school. I don’t know if I can commit my time to it but maybe even just start some courses. Also I’ve been in to’s and fro’s about moving to New York. I feel quite balanced in modelling now but I do feel like I’ve got to a place where I understand the world quite well and I can really detach myself from it and it’s kind of a job so I want to think about starting my own projects when I don’t have to worry about the way I look!
