It’s well and truly party season and Style Hunter wanted a slice of the action. Why should we be out shivering on the streets all the time, huh?! So when an exciting email came straight from the US of A, inviting us to a black tie carnival party at The Paradise in Kensal Green held by the adorable Stacey Bendet, designer and genius behind the cult A-list fave Alice + Olivia, we knew it was time to swap the sidewalks for the dancerfloor and get snapping cocktail dresses instead of cocoon coats. After we’d enjoyed a bit of burlesque, a kissing booth and some tarot readings, it was time to stop ogling at just how pretty Cara Delenvigne and her eyebrows were and get down to some Style Hunting business. Get some after-dark inspiration for your party dressing marathon and tell us who is working your favourite look and why….
Georgia Case, 26, wearing a fabulous vintage maxi she bought in Soho. Lurex is back, dontcha know.
Model and socialite Mary Charteris did a ‘70s thing in these Alice + Olivia cord flares and cropped jacket.
Model Sasha Zukova toughened up her sheer lace dress from The Row with a heavy biker jacket. Love the addition of Louboutins and fishnets – sass-a-rama.
Blogger Peony Lim aces the velvet trend with this Dolce & Gabbana bandeau dress and simple black accessories.
Sophie Mawson, 18, matches up her black velvet Topshop dress with mega platforms and a ladylike bag. Bare legs and gold jewellery break up the darkness.
Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet’s lace dress is a one-off piece. The original design is much shorter – but we love the drama of this version.
Tricia Starr, International PR and Marketing Associate for Alice + Olivia looks fantastic in these purple party pants and demure disco top.
Micheline Auguste brings the faux-throw trend indoors with this little wrap she added to her Alice + Olivia beaded dress and Gucci shoes.
Zara Martin’s sheer Maje dress looks fantastic with a vintage kimono, evil eye-embellished Doma Kaya clutch and chunky ankle boots.
Karen Mfuk, a stylist and croupier (yes, croupier) looks too-cute in her polka-dot ASOS skirt, H&M jumper and Dame Edna worthy glasses!
Stylist Cleo Wade cements the look of the evening as a dramatic (and most likely to be sheer) maxi gown. She makes her Alice + Olivia one casual with hippy pendants and dip dyed hair.
