Following yesterday’s thrilling news that Stella McCartney is poised to to re-join the London Fashion Week roster comes the equally exciting news that McQ, the diffusion line from Alexander McQueen, is also expected to show in London next season.
McQ is expected to announce later today that they are set to show in London next season for the first time. The move coincides with the label’s plans to open a standalone store for the label, with a Georgian townhouse in Mayfair’s Dover Street having been selected and set to open in the spring.
McQ, which was set up by Alexander McQueen in 2006 as a denim-focused fusion line, was last year was taken back in house with fashion Midas Sarah Burton overseeing the collections which are currently designed by Pina Ferlisi, who was appointed in June 2010. Ferlisi’s past posts include designing for Marc by Marc Jacobs, Coach and GAP, and she has successfully overseen the reinvigoration of the label including the addition of a shoe and handbag line, which was launched for Resort 2012.
