Lanvin Christmas Tree at Claridges

Hands up who’s looking forward to Christmas?? Umm, although we’re not really (it’s too early, and when it does come we’ll be stressed out through lack of preparation) we ARE going to make an exception and possible get a little bit hot under the collar about THIS! The proposed Christmas tree at swank London hotel, Claridges, which is to be personally decorated by Alber Elbaz of Lanvin himself. Can you imagine how cool that is going to look?  If not, here’s a picture to help you out.

The tree, which is imagined here by Alber himself, has been described as ‘colourful and whimsical’ - bedecked, as it will be with marionettes wearing Elbaz’s take on Claridge’s staff uniforms. Elbaz said that he wanted to ‘create an installation that carries the spirit of Lanvin, an infusion of tradition and modernity at the same time.’ Thomas Kochs, general manager at Claridge’s, added, ‘It is simply wonderful to see this talented designer decorate the tree in his whimsical style.’

Holy fairy lights batman! Want to know any other facts concerning this arboreal situation? Oh go on then. The tree has been designed by recently deposed fashion designer John Galliano for the past couple of years. Is this to be a harbinger that Monsieur Elbaz will be taking over any of Galliano’s OTHER duties? We simple don’t know.
