Prince William and Kate Middleton made another dazzling appearance this week when they hosted a charity dinner at St. James's Palace in London. The couple entertained 120 guests at an event to raise money for the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal and of course, all eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge - and not just because of those pregnancy rumours.
Kate made a spectacular enterance, sweeping into the room wearing a glorious Grecian-esque gown
made of silvery grey satin. Once again, she turned to the elegance of a Jenny Packham design and with that fluid draping across one shoulder and the dainty ribbon around her waist, we say it's an excellent choice. The dress is also loose-fitting enough to abate those baby-bump watchers.
The Duchess accessorised the look with strappy silver sandals, a diamond bracelet and glittering drop earrings, as well as a red poppy to enliven all that silver. As for Kate's glossy hair, it was swept to one side and fell into those signature bouncy curls. Talk about the hostess with the mostess!
Aside from her loyalty to Alexander McQueen since the Royal Wedding, Kate is proving herself to be an avid fan of Jenny Packham dresses. It was back in June when the DoC first wowed the world in a floor-sweeper from the British designer's Spring / Summer 2011 collection at the ARK Gala Dinner [above]. We'd never seen her look so glitzy as she stepped out in a pearlescent rose gown embellished with Swarovski crystals and lashings of sequins.
Then, during her US and Canadian tour earlier this year, the Duchess sported two more JP frocks - one summery number covered in a floral print for cheering on her polo-playing hubby and another primrose yellow design for her arrival at Calgary Airport in Canada. And who can blame her when the feminine creations are perfect for nailing that understated elegance she's become known for?
And Kate's in good company. Angelina Jolie wore a similar style at 'The Tree Of Life' LA Premiere in May - although hers was in crimson, naturally. And just this week, we've seen Lea Michele opting for a sparkling champagne-coloured gown and Emily Blunt looking super sultry in a black beaded stunner, both by Ms Packham.
