Versace For H&M: Watch The Catwalk Show!

Versace For H&M The Catwalk Show

Last night, New York City went Donatella-tastic when the ‘Versace For H&M’ extravaganza rolled into town. Pier 57 in Manhattan's Meatpacking District was transformed into a Miami-themed fashion show with a hoard of A-list style setters taking their seats on the FROW. We’ve already drooled over what they wore – we’re talking Blake Lively, Jessica Alba and Emma Stone kitted out in a LOT of V4H&M – but what was happening ON the catwalk, you ask?

WELL. As we revealed on Friday, Nicki Minaj and PRINCE! were on performing duties at the post-show party after the superhot catwalkers – hello Abbey Lee Kershaw, Natasha Poly and Lindsey Wixson – had showcased Donatella’s snazzy creations.

From sparkling party dresses to a hot pink suit, studded leather jackets and vibrant frocks covered in tropical prints, sequins and tassles, the collection is just as fabulous as you’d expect. It’s literally dripping with Versace glamour – as well as that trademark Greek motif. So yes, us mere mortals really CAN own a designer treasure but without the price tag. Hooray for H&M!

Of course, the models also embodied that Versace sleekness, wearing their hair long and straight with leather bandanas framing their smokey eyes and chunky gold chokers adorned several of their necks. As for accessories, there were animal print bags and colour-popping clutches while strappy sandals came in silver and Barbie pink. Oh, and did we mention lace-up ankle boots a-plenty in black and cobalt blue. As Donatella put it, ‘This is a very joyful collection.’

And as if all that wasn’t exciting enough, Ms Versace herself contributed to the show’s soundtrack. We kid you not! Her vocals – in English – were blasted across the catwalk. ‘It’s the funniest thing because I can’t sing,’ she told WWD before the show. ‘I’m going to say, ‘Nicki and Prince, your time is over. It’s all about me!’’ And that’s exactly what she did, taking to the catwalk at the end of the show in a leather mini-dress. Cue rapturous applause!

There’s not long to wait until the collection lands on 17th November and we’ve an inkling Versace fever is only going to get hotter. Take a look at the video of the show and you'll feel the sizzle…
