There’s been a nail varnish range, a MAC cosmetics collaboration and an shoot for a US magazine, where Miss Piggy wears bespoke outfits made for her by the likes of Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu, now this week arrives the news of some particularly glittery trotters, designed my wacky shoemaker Jerome Rousseau, and dedicated to the most famous fabric pig in the world.

In the designers own words; ‘I jumped at the chance to create a style inspired by the lovely Miss Piggy,’ Rousseau said. ‘She’s cool, fierce and ostentatious — all things I love.’ The storyline for the feature film – which won’t be out until February next year – is already well known. The precocious Miss Piggy gets a glamorous new job as the editrix of French Vogue and fashion and beauty brands have been quick to exploit this association, whipping out collaborations right left and centre.

Miss Piggy for M.A.C
The inspiration for the shoes was Miss Piggy’s style, which he describes as curvaceous, flirty, fun and glittery. ‘I wanted this to be a shoe that sums her up nicely, without being too obvious about it’. Ah, we think they look very snazzy and they also fit well into the trend for Christmassy glitter feet kick started (ho ho) my the A/W Miu Miu catwalk. Perfect!
