If you listen to the radio, have been to any fashion shows this season or opened your ears to ANY public places where music is played recently, you’ll have heard the haunting ‘Hollywood sadcore’ tune, Video Games. It’s one that’ll really get inside your head and have humming it away all day long. Or you might THINK you are humming it, but in reality, it just keeps getting played everywhere all the time!
With absolutely GENIUS timing, uber cool style mag, WONDERLAND comes out tomorrow with guess who on their cover? Lana Del Rey. In the interview, according to Metro, the young lady with the big hit single talks about how how different the reality of success is to what she thought it would be, while sat at home dreaming;
‘In general, you don’t want anyone to say anything bad about you,’ she said. Since she burst onto the scene, Lana has experienced almost as much negative feedback towards her bee-stung-lipped look as she did positive attention for her tunes.
She told Wonderland Magazine: ‘I’m sure it wouldn’t have happened if I were a man. What other people think of me is none of my business but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt my feelings.
And, on the fact that she started off recording her wistful melodies herself and still films and edits together her own videos for youtube she said;
‘I’ve made all the videos so far.
When you want to make your own world around you, you just do what you can with what you have. And I didn’t have that much.’
On her dreamy sound, the brunette said: ‘I was always writing little songs. When I left school I wanted to do music because I thought I was good at it. My uncle taught me to play guitar and I did these little shows, just me and my guitar.’
We’ve got a feeling we’re going to be seeing more of her in the coming months!
