All eyes were on Kate Middleton on Wednesday night when she attended her first solo engagement on behalf of Prince Charles, who is visiting Saudi Arabia paying respects to their royal family, following the death of the Crown Prince. Kate, of course, looked gorgeous in a head-girl type of way, and chose to wear vintage for the occasion.
Kate re-opened her closet full of nude eveningwear to discover an Amanda Wakeley fall 2006 gown, which she accessorised with her silver Jimmy Choo Ubai shoes (last spotted at the BAFTA dinner in LA with her lilac McQueen dress) and some serious looking diamond jewellery.
This isn’t the first time Kate has worn vintage Amanda Wakeley – the navy blue shift she sported the week before her wedding was a Wakeley design, believed to be from 2007. She also, of course, wore Spring Summer 2011 Wakeley for the opening of the Royal Marsden Hospital last month.
Wednesday night’s event was a dinner for In Kind Direct, an organization which takes surplus goods from manufacturers and retailers and distributes them to charities which really need them. Perhaps Kate could donate a surplus pair of nude court shoes?
