Louise Gray tells us about her collection for Brora!

If there’s one thing we love almost as much as an eccentric yet elegant piece of London fashion, it’s a decent woolly for winter. And with Louise Gray’s collaboration with cashmere company, Brora, we’re getting both ideals in one! Yep, the talented Scot has come up with a collection of 11 gloriously cosy looking pieces, from a jumper dress to chunky socks and our latest winter ESSENTIAL purchase – wrist warmers. Aah, bliss.

We tracked down Louise herself to the most colourful atelier in East London and she told us;

‘I met with Victoria [Stapleton, the owner] at the Brora factory and we went through their archive and the brand's history.

It was really a meeting of Brora’s classic shapes with my textures and colours added in to give a heritage feel to the pieces. We used lots of fisherman’s ribs, and inside-out textures to give it real depth and beauty.’

We know from interviewing Louise in the past and from her collections that developing her own fabrics and the tricky business of inventing new textiles is a massive part of her process, so that last past doesn’t surprise us at all. She also added;

‘Brora to me is such a wonderful Scottish brand, I relished really in being part of it - the craft of how they take on every process of the garments is very inspiring.

I’m very much drawn to these things obviously growing up in the north east - Brora was I brand I owned and have in my wardrobe already, so it was great to do something together’.

Sounds like the perfect synthesis to us. All we need now is a spot of cold weather!

The collection starts at £80 for the wrist warmers, up to £745 for the cardigan and will be available to buy online from 4th November onwards! Brora.co.uk/louise-gray
