It’s here! The most in-depth look so far at the (now pretty imminent) Versace for H&M collaboration! Ooooh, we are pretty keen on it too!
Says Donatella Versace of the collection; ‘The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace. For the collaboration we’ve brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can’t wait to see how H&M’s wide audience will make these pieces their own.’
A key theme to the collection are prints, shapes and styles inspired by their rich archive. Or, as H&M put it; ‘it’s full of the pieces that have made the house of Versace legendary’ There are enough sassy little dresses to keep the most dedicated of ravers going through the party season, as well as more than a few nifty separates to mix and match with. We’ve spotted some palm print trews that we think would go nicely with a number of our tops and shoes as well as a studded biker jacket, embellished miniskirts and a printed corset.
The collection is unmistakably Versace, featuring , a classic black silk crepe dress with gold Grecian buttons on its patent straps, multi-colour sequin dresses in archival Versace prints, and short metallic dresses in either silver or gold, and strong colour shift dresses are embellished with studs in classic Greek motifs PLUS the Miami palm print. Prices are going to keep smiles equally as fixed on faces, with accessories for as little as £19.99, with dresses from £79.99 up!
Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M describes the collection as; ‘is a moment in fashion. It is full of strong pieces that stand out, with colours, prints and cuts that are clean and precise. The women’s collection is flattering and full of dresses, while the men’s collection is very sophisticated. When I think about Versace I think of iconic items. With this collection for H&M we’ve got the essence of Versace.’
We know what WE’LL be doing come 17th November! But WHAT ABOUT YOU? Tell us what you think below!
