Jessie J scores a campaign for House of Holland Pretty Polly – just as WE predicted!

Loveable London singer and rapper and officially a very ‘brave soldier’ for coping on crutches all summer, Jessie J is the new face or rather legs of the House of Holland Pretty Polly tights campaign. We think this is so perfect that we can’t believe that it escaped the notice of tights companies for so long that Jessie has pins that never end, and which are rarely photographed without being clad in a pair of wackily patterned hosiery.

When Grazia Daily trolled up to the BRIT Awards earlier this year, we spoke to Jessie and shortly afterwards declared her to be our favourite celebrity of all (watch the video below). We asked her about her tights-wearing habit and she told us how much she loves patterned ones in particular and how she has an enormous stash at home from all the free pairs she’d been sent, big enough to start her own concession of Sock Shop, should the pop singing not work out.

We love the graphic, Roy Lichtenstein, comic book style of the ads and we love the House of Holland/Pretty Polly collaboration anyway – so good choice Jessie. David Hinchliffe, brand director at Pretty Polly said ‘She’s got awesome style, but her attitude as well as her persona make a terrific choice for our collection,’ he went on; ‘The campaign is all about how our tights make a girl feel, it’s about empowering a girl when she’s wearing our products and recognizing the effect she will have on the people around her.’ Hence the ‘POW!’ and ‘WHAM’!

We heard that Henry Holland was pleased with the casting too. One more piece of news for tights connoisseurs, before we go; there’ll be a Pretty Polly pop-up opening up next week in London’s Covent Garden, which will carry the House of Holland collection and will remain open through January 31st. We’ll see you down there, searching the racks for some more pairs of our favourite ever design – the ones with the letters of the alphabet on!
