The hiss of hairspray and the gentle clack-clack of hair tongs was all you could hear at Grazia Towers on Monday afternoon, because Grazia was preparing to spend Monday evening with someone very special – it was none other than Joan Collins OBE!
Joan was awarded the Lifetime Achiever Award by the CEW – Cosmetic Executive Women (an organization which was established in the USA in 1954 to celebrate and promote women in the cosmetics industry) at a ceremony in London, and Grazia Editor Jane Bruton was also the recipient of a gong –the CEW Achiever Award - at the same event. Congratulations Jane!
Jane, (who chose a gorgeous Alaia dress to accept her award, FYI) went with deputy editor Marianne Jones to meet Miss Collins and Marianne reports that Joan ‘sort of wafted in fashionably late, and absolutely everybody in there couldn’t take their eyes off here – she had on this emerald green Roland Mouret dress and she just looked like a bona fide star’.

Unsurprisingly, Joanie was ‘immaculately made up’ and has an ‘AMAZING bone structure and these incredible cheek bones.’
Most brilliantly of all, Joanie ‘mentioned that Grazia was her favourite magazine… she loves the fashion and beauty in particular, and even when she’s not in the country she gets it delivered.’
Joan loves Grazia! We are beside ourselves. And Joanie, let us just tell you this: the feeling’s utterly mutual.
