Love this: Basically, a single poorly photocopied lookbook of Tabitha Simmons shoes would be enough to bring the whole of the Grazia Daily office to a standstill, so this Beyonce-esque video from Tabitha is an extra special bonus. Simmons is the model-turned-shoe-designer who unveiled her first collection back in 2009, and now she has paired up with fashion photog extraordinaire Craig McDean to create a short fashion film to celebrate her Autumn Winter 2011 collection through the medium of dance. Ta da!
Tabitha’s latest designs have been reworked into clicky-clicky tap shoes, as worn by dancer Michelle Dorrance in the film, where she jigs along to the strains of some, like, rah underground tunes. Michelle wins all the respect in the world from team Grazia Daily for dancing – not just walking – without a Compeed blister plaster in sight.
Tabitha has, of course, been nominated for a British Fashion Award in the Emerging Talent – Accessories category this year. Previous winners of the prestigious award include Husam El Odeh who won last year, Holly Fulton who won in 2009 and Nicholas Kirkwood who received the first award in 2008. This year, Tabitha is up against Jordan Askill and Nasir Mazhar for this year’s prize, to be given at the British Fashion Awards ceremony on Monday 28th November. Eeep!
But enough of our waffling. It’s almost lunchtime, so sit back, press play and look at the pretty shoes.
