Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model: we talk to the winner, Jade Thomson!

Grazia Daily has been following Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model from the very start, and we were totally delighted when, on Monday night, the lovely Jade Thomson took the title of this year’s BINTM champion. Yay for Jade!

We loved Jade, for her amazing colouring; the red hair and freckled complexion which make her so unique, and also for her brills attitude in this year’s contest which ensured that even in the challenges where she didn’t exactly excel (the Spanish soap challenge, anyone?) she still came across as a lovely young lady.

So, following her win, we caught up with the winner to ask her what she was planning on doing now she’s won that elusive contract with Models 1. ‘I'm still in shock!’ she said of her win. ‘This is just the beginning - this is where I have to work hard. I would love to go to America at some point.’ Jade says that she would love to see her career pan out like ‘Lara Stone and Lily Cole’ because ‘they are both unique and have womanly figures’, as does Jade herself.

In terms of clothes (The important stuff, right?) Jade says that ‘Mark Fast’ is one designer in particular whom she can see herself working with, because ‘he designs amazing dresses for amazing bodies’. She’s also love to walk for ‘Julian McDonald - because I love him’ (we bet last year's winner Tiffany Pisani wouldn’t have said that) as well as ‘Victoria Beckham - because I love her collections’. Can’t argue with that.

Jade’s win came as a surprise to her, after getting down to the final two with Juste – she thought the Lithuanian would beat her to the title ‘because she's modeled for years and has a wealth of experience’.

So now the hard work begins – Jade has shot her four covers with Company magazine, and is set to spend the cash from her first model paycheck on a pair of Louboutins. Good girl.

Next for Jade is the BINTM Live event – the massive event at Earl’s Court, where she and all twelve of her fellow finalists will reunite to take part in the live catwalk event there. FYI, Jade was spotted at last year’s BINTM live event, so if you fancy yourself as a budding model, then it might be a good idea to don your gladdest glad rags and head down between the 28th -30th October.

Charlotte Holmes, who has been guest-commenting on this season of BINTM for us here at Grazia Daily, is compering the BINTM live event. Here’s what she made of the final!

Oh. Em. Gee! So that’s it - another series over. I can’t believe how fast it’s gone, and WHAT a series it has been!!! In my opinion the best girl won. Jade has a fresh exciting and unusual look with a body to die for! She’s really hardworking, down to earth and the best thing about her is that she has absolutely no idea just how good she is! When she realises her full potential there will be no stopping her! GO JADE!

I can’t believe it has been a over a year since my series ended! I can't wait for BINTM Live at the end of October - please continue to follow me @misscharholmes and I shall hopefully see you all next month. Much love! xx
