Yes, it's boiling hot with blazing sunshine in Londontown today, but Grazia's Deputy Editor Marianne Jones is wearing a coat (above).
And who can blame her? She's literally just picked up this brilliant crombie style at Topshop in her lunch hour, and naturally she had to show it off to everyone in the office (cue much gnashing of teeth and negotiations about how many of us can buy it too).
Now, amateur shoppers might regard September as a little early for coat-shopping. But shopaholics shopping experts like Marianne know that the time is now, right now: while everyone else is sitting in the park, while everyone else thinks summer could just go on for ever, while we're all in denial that it might ever get cold and dark again. And the shops are empty!
Anyway, we think this coat is pretty perfect. The crucial detail is that it is colour-blocked - navy coat, black sleeves; seriously; how Celine is that? And obviously it's all about leather sleeves for Autumn Winter 2012. Just ask Burberry.
Marianne claims it was 'reassuringly expensive' but it turns out to cost the not-so-princely sum of £170, which ain't bad for a coat with leather sleeves, that also Made in England (love).
So this little beauty, may just be *trumpet fanfare*...The Coat of the Season.
It's in Topshop, Oxford Circus [but not yet online] right now, ladies!
But it's also on Grazia Daily so.... HURRY!
