You may have noticed we're a leeeetle bit excited about Balmain's diffusion line here at Grazia HQ. Pierre Balmain launches on SUNDAY (that's three sleeps, peeps!) and to whet our appetite, a preview video directed by Inez and Vinoodh has landed, just in time for Paris Fashion Week.
Not only does the footage feature the lusciousness that is Abbey Lee Kershaw, the Parisian brand has also enlisted Abbey's dishy boyfriend and their beardy band, Our Mountain, as co-stars. Together, the hipster group race around New York City with their grungey tune as a soundtrack before Abbey slicks on her lippy and is ready to jam, much like Kate Moss getting her rocker on for Rimmel, no? In fact, the black and white taster is rather music video-esque, perfectly encapsulating Balmain's rock'n'roll edge while appealing to the more affordable collection's younger clientele. We likey.
But what of the clothes? So far, we can spy zebra print blouses worn with sky-high stilettos, multi-zip biker jackets over skimpy LBDs, and Emmanuelle Alt-like cropped jeans – all to be worn with ALK's rocker rings and smokey eyes, of course. So there you have it folks, Pierre Balmain's debut collection is set to be FIERCE. We wouldn’t expect anything less.
