Paris Fashion Week starts today! In fact, a few of the more obscure brands held their shows yesterday! Whoo-hoo. If New York and Milan are all about the super slick brands, and London is all about the creativity, then Paris is surely the pure lifeblood of fashion. Christian Dior, Lanvin, Chanel, Valentino, the stuff that girly dreams are made of. Magical dreams. Now this season, like any other, is not without its intrigues. Our breath is particularly baited with regards to;

The Mugler show – people were cynical last season as to whether Nicola Formichetti, indisputably a brilliantly talented stylist, could carry off a whole women’s wear collection with his design team. Last season’s effort with Lady Gaga mincing wildly down the catwalk, puffing on cigs, and generally upstaging the models who are supposed to be the ones who earn their living doing this, was hailed as a triumph. HOW can they top that this season?

The musical chairs rumours continue. As if the editors weren’t busy enough speculating on how many noughts Messers Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy demanded Mr Bernard Arnualt of LVMH to be paid to join Christian Dior, there's been mention of Alexander Wang's name in the running once again. Then there’s ALSO the matter of Suzy Menkes boldly declaring that Raf Simons is next in line for the YSL throne. Will there be any developments during the Paris fashion carousel? We can only hope there will.

The Brits abroad. Two of London’s most eccentric, wacktacular figures were noticeably absent from the capitals catwalks this September – Pam Hogg and Charlie Le Mindu. What had happened to the queen of catsuits and Gaga’s wig weaver? No, they hadn’t gone on a Buddhist retreat, they’d merely been preparing to take their shows on the road to Paris. Will they be the toast of the town? Or will they suffer from the dreaded small fish in a big pond syndrome when they roll up at On|Off in the French capital?
Will there be another Emanuel Ungaro announcement? Post Giles, this latest collection, apparently made by the craftspeople in the atelier without a creative director, will be as much as a surprise as our
