Last night in tinseltown the great and the good of Hollywoodland were out for the annual Primetime Emmy awards. With the red carpet rolled out and the A-List dressed up in all their finery we were ready to give them the Grazia once-over and here are our picks for last night's best dressed...
We can't quite believe that our own Cat Deeley from SM:TV fame is now strutting the red carpets of Hollywood in gorgeous dresses! This particular gorgeous dress is from Monique Lhuillier's Resort 2012 collection and looks like it was just made for occassions such as these. Glitzy and glamorous, we're very much in love with this sparkly champagne-coloured number.
Also adding to the sparkle last night was Christina Hendricks who wore this form-fitting silver gown by Johanna Johnson. The dress fit Christina like a glove, showing off some of the actress' best assets with a low neckline and thigh-high-split.
Evan Rachel Wood looked elegant in this black Elie Saab dress from the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. The cap sleeves are decidely ladylike whilst the plunging back made for a sexy yet sophisticated surprise. Evan finished off her look with fingerwaved hair and a grey metallic clutch and cuff - a perfect accompaniment to her gown.
The most unusual gown of last night was worn by Gwyneth Paltrow, who chose this midriff-baring dress from Emilio Pucci's Spring/Summer 2012 collection. We just love the intricate details of the handmade embroidery and applaud Gwennie for choosing a dress that wasn't a safe choice - bravo!
Just like how there's always a bit of sparkle and bling on the red carpet, you can guarantee that there will be a fair few ruffled dresses too. Glee's Heather Morris was one of the last night's ladies who opted for the ruffled option choosing this grey-blue dress by Masai Payan with plunging neckline.
Also rocking ruffles on the red carpet last night was model/presenter/supermum Heidi Klum in a Christian Sirano strapless dress. Her whole look was pretty and feminine, and we especially love how she paired the flower-like ruffles of her skirt with big, statement floral jewellery.
From ruffles to simple and chic, Katie Holmes wore this blue Calvin Klein dress to present at the Emmys last night. The gorgeous deep shade of blue complimented her skintone perfectly and a simple gold skinny belt helps to break up what would otherwise have been a block of blue. A simple bun helped to finish off this relaxed look.
There were quite a few red dresses on the red carpet last night but there's three who really stood out for us. One such dress-wearer was Kelly Osbourne who wore this J Mendel claret-coloured fishtail gown. We love the mismatched straps and the fit of the dress which show off Kelly's amazing body.
Opting for a berry red was Michelle Dockery who wore a long sleeved dress with cheeky little triangle cut out. How gorgeous is this colour against her skin?
Finally, how could we compile a Best Dressed list without mentioning the lady of the night, Kate Winslet? Kate looking stunning in her bold red Elie Saab dress from the Resort 2012 collection which she accessorised with siver jewellery, gold clutch and of course, that Emmy!
