London’s star power was seriously ramped up a few notches last night when Beyonce and her mum Tina Knowles visited town to launch their House of Dereon collection at Selfridges. And Grazia Daily was there to witness it!
The line, which the duo have been running since 2004 has only been available in the states until now, but was launched exclusively at Selfridges last night. House of Dereon is named after Beyonce's grandmother (Tina's mum) Agnes Dereon, who was a seamstress in Louisianna. Of course, Tina Knowles used to design the tour costumes for Destiny's Child (which might go some way to explaining how Beyonce always got the fiercest looks), and the House of Dereon collections are no less showstopping than these outfits: think feathers, sequins and, for S/S '12 some intesnse exotic prints.
Of course, Beyonce and her mum both looked AMAZING and took to the runway after the show’s tribal-inspired finale; Beyonce rocked a black sequined suit, while Miss Tina chose a cropped front leather jacket, loose top and skinny lack jeans. If this is any indication as to how Beyonce’s going to age then she has no worries at all...
Beyonce and Tina also sat down with the guys at Selfridges to talk about their style, and what influences them. Turns out, Beyonce rates Kate Moss as one of her top trend inspirations, and loves the style in London because 'the women here are so stylish and beautiful, and they're a little but more experimental - they put prints together that maybe some of the women in America would be afraid of doing.' Why thank you, Miss B! Check out the whole interview with Beyonce and Tina below.
