Grazia Daily’s top 10 bags from NYFW

Marc Jacobs S/S '12

Basically, very little gets Grazia Daily more excited than the smell of leather and pleasing creak-creak of a new bag. Aaaand because we know you’re just like us, we have scoured every last image from the NYFW catwalks to bring you our top ten bags from the new season’s shows. Ace, right?

For S/S ’12, size is not an issue. From small, Princessy styles, to rucksacks, simple rectangular camera bags and large courier styles, we’ve seen the full gamut of shapes and sizes on the S/S catwalks. And what other trends are we seeing emerge from NY? Well, these are a few of our favourite things….

Tommy Hilfiger and DKNY S/S '12

Colours: from Pepto Bismol pink, through bright yellow and cobalt blue, as seen on the catwalk at Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY and Victoria Beckham. Muted tones are beginning to look terrrribly last year.

Jason Wu and Derek Lam S/S '12

Snakeskin; seen in Derek Lam and Jason Wu’s shows, from pastels through to bright tones snakeskin is looking to be a big trend (again) for S/S ’12.

Alexander Wang and Derek Lam S/S '12

White. It might be nightmarish to keep clean, but nothing says chic like Alexander Wang and Derek Lam’s snowy white leather bags.

Marc Jacobs and Victoria Beckham S/S '12

Two-tone. Totally lending itself to that modern classic, the bowling bag (anyone who missed out on Prada’s iconic bags from 2000 should be able to heal the wound with one from Marc Jacobs) Victoria Beckham and DKNY also showed some dual colour showstoppers.

Tory Burch and Proenza Schouler S/S '12

Statement finishes: from Nordic ski-style florals at Alexander Wang and tropical blossoms at Tory Burch to fierce metallics at Proenza Schouler, power-patterns and metallic finishes are going to be totally huge come the new season.
