Kate Moss made a suitably fabulous entrance into the Rimmel London party last night, which was thrown in honour of the supermodel being the beauty brand's 'original' London girl. No, she wasn't ensconced in an egg and there was no fleet of Rolls Royces; instead, the night sky above Battersea Power Station was a-whir with helicopter blades. Oh yes, in imitation of the Rimmel ad for her lipstick range, Mrs Hince landed in A-list stylee to greet a swarm of shivering fans and flashing paparazzi bulbs who'd been waiting to see her for the past two hours. Quite the entrance!
Posing on the red carpet, her black vintage dress with a diamante trim on the neckline showed no sign of the baby bump that got the i'internet buzzing earlier this week. In fact, Kate looked as glam as ever with tousled blonde waves and a foxy red lip while her accessorises included a snakeskin clutch, a simple silver necklace and ladylike Christian Louboutin courts. 'How does it feel to be the face of Rimmel for a decade?' one reporter shouted in her direction, but the Kate was swept past the Beefeater Bouncers and into the venue faster than you can say 'get the London look'. 'She doesn't talk remember,' someone muttered. Indeed.
But fear not! Because within minutes, a silhouette of a ginormous afro approached. Is it a Lenny Kravitz impersonator? Has Diana Ross arrived? Course not, sillies, it's Solange Knowles! And boy, did she look marvellous floating before the paps in a magnificent yellow Acne floor-sweeper, topped off with pointed Casadei heels. Bravo for sporting Britishness, Solange! So as an ambassador for the beauty brand, how does she like being a Rimmel girl? 'They let me wear my hair as big as I want to!' she chirped. 'And I can wear my prints and my colours'. Amen to that.
Another Rimmelette to arrive in blonde bombshell form was Georgia May Jagger. She'd wrapped her curves in an Herve Leger LBD, accessorised with Charlotte Olympia heels and that Brigitte Bardot pout = utterly gorgeous. So what's her can't-live-without beauty product? 'Mascara. I think for every girl it's what you really want to put on before you go out,' GMJ told Grazia Daily. 'I just filmed the Rimmel Scandalise advert so I'm a big fan.' And the perfect ambassador for it too.
With the red carpet arrivals out of the way, we walked through an avenue of Kate Moss faces (a tribute to her past and present Rimmel ads) to join a hub-bub of partiers nibbling on pork pies and Bakewell tarts. Yum. Cara Delevigne (in a Burberry dress and Mulberry bag) and Suki Waterhouse were queuing up for the photobooth, Gizzi Erskine was throwing some shapes on the dancefloor and Bonnie Wright (in Roksanda Illincic) snuggled up to her fiancee Jamie Campbell-Bower.
After a storming performance by The Noisettes, Solange herself took over DJ duty, treating us to an awesome playlist consisting of J-Lo, Amerie, and of course, Beyonce, which had the fash pack getting bootilicious. Meanwhile, Mossy was huddled with BFFs Sadie Frost, Annabelle Neilson and Meg Matthews - oh, and her mum! - taking snaps of each other in the VIP area.
When the clock struck midnight, it was time for Grazia Daily to hop in our 'Kate Cab' (there was no room in the Mossy Chopper, apparently), but not before we'd left our mark on the mirrored wall using her hot pink lippy, obvs.
