Whether it’s bringing some vampish sex appeal to TV screens as a bloodsucking queen in True Blood or going glossy and golden for Gucci, Evan Rachel Wood always exudes star style. So it’s no surprise the actress is starring alongside some of the biggest Hollywood heroes - Ryan Gosling, George Clooney AND Philip Seymour Hoffman - in the political thriller The Ides of March, which premiered at this week's Venice Film Festival. Plus, armed with as many hair style changes as she has films under her belt, Evan is proving to have that enviable ability of suiting whatever trend is thrown at her. Don't believe us? Just take a look at the look she's been wearing this week…
First up, we saw her working this season’s androgynous trend, stepping out in a Dolce & Gabbana tux paired with possibly THE most coveted shoe of the season – Salvatore Ferragamo’s houndstooth printed python pumps. ERW looks great in the dramatic high collar ruffle blouse and the slim fit of the suit is ever so flattering. What's more, going monochrome allows her electric hair to steal the spotlight. Grazia Daily has never seen such dainty boat-hopping.
For the premiere that evening, Evan made a bold statement in a full-skirted Alessandra Rich gown. With its turned up cuffs and full length buttons, it is by all accounts a glorified shirt dress. But with a lace panel bodice, cinched in waist and thigh revealing split, she ensures the required amount of sex-appeal. The Giuseppe Zanoti shoes and quiff provide the look with a harder edge. Yep, there’s no doubt Evan steals the limelight, if not only for taking such a risk.
Recycling the Ferragamos (well, wouldn’t you?) she injects some rock chick cool into her week of black and white ensembles. Red leather trousers are not always the most figure flattering choice, but Ms Wood pulls off this cropped style thanks to the height of the shoes and the relaxed tuxedo jacket. The black/white/red palette screams rock star, there’s no avoiding the paps in this one.
And finally, we're back where we started with another boy-girl look. This one is from today's Mildred Pierce photocall where she joined Kate Winslet for more VFF fun. There's a return for those tight black trousers and she's cracked out another frothy white blouse but rather than the sharp jacket, she's dressed down the Byronic look with a waist coat and relaxed hair. So forget retro glam, could ERW be the new championer of all things androgynous?
