Once again, the time has come for Lady Gaga to grace us with her musings courtesy of V Magazine. So what’s she harping on about in this month’s column? More dreams of dressing like Marc Bolan? Clarifying the creation of her male alter-ego perhaps? Nope, this time, it’s an entire diatribe against educated journalists being reduced to gossipers. Eeep.
To quote: ‘In the age of the Internet, when collections and performances are so accessible to the public and anyone can post a review on Facebook or Twitter, shouldn't columnists and reviewers, such as Cathy Horyn, employ a more modern and forward approach to criticism, one that separates them from the average individual at home on their laptop?’ Meanwhile, Gaga heralds Style Rookie, Tavi Gevinson’s ‘well-written blog’ as the future of journalism.
Yikes! Does Gagaloo have a grudge against Ms Horyn after she unfollowed her on Twitter, we wonder? Grazia Daily sensed a feud was a-brewing when the New York Times critic lambasted Gaga’s love-in with Donatella Versace, who she advised to be ‘choosier’ when handing out vintage wares to feature in pop videos. Double eep.
Granted, Gaga’s original (and somewhat pretentious) column did warn us that she would be addressing her critics, so do you think her words of revenge are fair play? Join us in the debate below…
