Singing Twiggy to release a NEW ALBUM!

Oooh. Here’s some news we couldn’t have predicted even if we were locked in a room being poked with sticks for days and days, made to come up with guesses (It COULD HAPPEN). Oh well, it’s unlikely to happen. Anyhoo. Twiggy, the supermodel from the '60s and latterly the M&S telly adverts is going to release an album!

Now, if you’re not up to speed on your popular culture knowledge, you might have missed the fact that between her '60s heyday and her Mark and Sparks revival, Mrs Twigson actually released quite a lot of musical ditties. *raises eyebrows in surprise* Oh yes; Fact.

Twiggy then . .. .

This record will be her first piece of recorded material since the 1970s and will be called 'Romantically Yours' says the model, whose real name is Lesley Hornby – and she's singing a selection of classic love songs, including Neil Young's 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart', 'Waterloo Sunset' by The Kinks and Bryan Adams’s 'Heaven', which will feature a new guitar solo from Mr Adams.

The album also features versions of 'Blue Moon', 'My Funny Valentine' and 'They Can't Take That Away From Me' and will be released on November 21st.

And still very glamorous in 2011

Twiggy released a number of singles in the 1970s and has also performed in a number of musicals in London's West End. She also produced two Top 20 albums.  We’ll certainly be looking out for it, and then giving that disc a spin!
