John Galliano on Kate Moss' Wedding Dress: 'It’s been my creative rehab’

25 August 2011

Kate Moss' wedding is the gift that keeps on giving. We’ve been treated to gorgeous black and white shots as well as behind-the-scenes footage, Manolo Blahnik revealed the shoes were made FIVE times, and each member from Kate's menagerie of bridesmaids have been painstakingly identified.

And today, we have another glorious moment to add to the Mossy montage:

Yep, it’s a snapshot of John Galliano fluffing the blushing bride’s veil. We swoon.
Featured in US Vogue’s September issue, along with a gazillion other Mario Testino-shot images, the scene shows Kate’s dress designer and BFF doing what he does best: showcasing his creation while sporting jolly pantaloons and a jaunty hat (we're reliably informed his full look comes courtesy of Comme des Garcons).

As we know, Galliano was in rehab when he came up with the spangly design and, in his account of the Big Day, Hamish Bowles reveals that it took four marathon fittings when ‘bags full of bits ... tulle and sequins and veils and flowers’ were frantically pined together.

‘She dared me to be John Galliano again,’ the designer reveals. ‘I couldn’t pick up a pencil. It’s been my creative rehab.’
