Apparently newly adult Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love is an aspiring singer. This would explain why she has been working with such big name photographers on moody black and white shoots, when up until now she’s been happy to eschew the limelight.
This time around the shots were created by LA based photographer Rocky Schenck – whose work is fine art photography which varies from misty, mysterious landscapes to portraits of the likes of Adele, Nick Cave, P.J. Harvey, Annie Lennox, Tom Cruise, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman, Stevie Nicks, Donna Summer, Alice in Chains, and Scissor Sisters!
His muse is the glamour and mystique of old Hollywood stars and he describes his modus operandi as; ‘I love to go out wandering with my camera, sometimes with no specific agenda planned for myself,’ Schenck said in an interview with author John Berendt. ‘I always stumble across something or someone that intrigues me – whether it’s a hypnotic landscape or a perfect stranger going about their day unaware of my eavesdropping on their reality. I simply take my camera with me wherever I go and try to remain open to whatever life shoves – or gently places – in front of me’
What a thoughtful sounding chap.
