And then there were, erm, seven. Eight? Eight. We think. We’re almost at a stage where we can work out who’s who in BINTM towers, (though we’re still having a slight issue with Stacey and Holly).
Yesterday saw the ladies being whisked off to Dublin after a terrifyingly volumised Elle (below) accosted them in the dressing room, having based her hairstyle this week on Jodie Harsh’s best looks. On arrival in the Irish capital, the girls were greeted by Yvonne Keating (Ronan’s Mrs – a fact which was helpfully pointed out by the use of a video clip, and Hannah saying ‘its Ronan Keating’s wife’ to camera.)
The girls then began what was actually a brilliant shoot – posing with falcons in Downton-Abbey-meets-DIOR couture outfits. Best thing about the shoot – aside from the falcon losing control of its bowels - was, without doubt, Juste’s expressions. Unsolicited advice: you’re MODELLING, Juste. (Actually – she did look ace in the final pic.)
Later on, the ladies were introduced to supermodel Alek Wek (this series clearly has a higher budget than last season) and were invited to scrabble about selecting two outfits before taking to the catwalk. The bigwigs at BINTM seemed to have provided only shoes in a child’s size 4, which meant that several of the girls took a bit of a tumble, which we did NOT laugh at, at all.
Finally, we returned to the BINTM house where a) Charley appeared with some ridiculously good looking male model mates, turning the house into a hotbed of hormonal activity, and b) there was some BRILLIANT shouting between Tanya and Anastasjia about something which seemed very important at the time, but the details of which allude us now.
In the elimination room, lovely Hannah lost out on making it through to next week’s episode (boo). We grabbed a few moments on the phone with Hannah this morning and she was full of beans about her time in the house, saying ‘it’s been one of the best experiences of my life.. It was a huge accomplishment and made me realise how much I want it [to model].’ Hannah’s highlight from the series was meeting all the great people like Elle, the judges and mentors, and in particular she said she loved meeting Janice Dickinson because she was actually really helpful, ‘telling us how to improve our walks – I think my walk is way better because of Janice!’
And Charlotte says:
Love LOVE LOVED tonight’s shoot! I think it’s one of my favourite shoots of all time in Next Top Model. It’s a shame Hannah didn’t produce a stronger shot as i think she’s beautiful, however there is already such a high standard it’s difficult to pick a 'worst' each week! I also thought Stacey and Jess really shone this time around. It’s rather funny to see the girls arguing already.... Could be an interesting few weeks to come!
Amen to that, Miss Holmes. See you next week!
Charlotte Holmes is the compere for this year’s BINTM live, 28th 30th October.
