Marc Jacobs considered for the role at Dior?

There’s a new suspect in the giant Cluedo game that is the house of Christian Dior. First we thought it might be Riccardo Tisci with the laser-cutter in the Library. Then our suspicions turned to Haider Ackerman with the leather burnisher in the Hall. The latest twist? Could it be Marc Jacobs with a pair of handcuffs in the Dining Room???

Yep, rumour has it that Marc Jacobs is the latest in a line-up of prolific designers to be considered for the role to replace John Galliano at Dior. Brazilian website Glamurama reports that Jacobs has been in recent talks with LVMH boss Bernard Arnault to discuss the possibility of overseeing both Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior. Which sounds like a hell of a lot of work to us, and considering the fact that over-work was cited as a cause for John Galliano’s demise, it might not be the wisest step for Jacobs, who already oversees three labels.

This is the man who once said, “I like spending time at home. In Paris, people drop by and have a bite to eat, or they drop by and watch Friends on TV.”
Any more work for this man and Friends will be the last thing on his mind.
