We don't write a lot about music on Grazia Daily, but some music is so cool it's practically fash-wan. And so we are happy to announce that indie actress, Rimmel "face" (and Katy Perry stunt double) Zooey Deschanel's band She & Him are releasing a "holiday" (read: Christmas) album.
Anyone who has seen the brilliant hipster romcom 500 Days Of Summer in which Deschanel starred and sang the soundtrack will know the girl can hold a tune. Her style of pretty, country-tinged accoustic numbers are so right for now, and if you haven't got round to listening to She & Him, we recommend you do.
Of course, we all love Zooey's vintagey, peter pan collared dress sense, but her vocal chops first came to the attention of fashion editors worldwide when she sang "Dream A Little Dream" (below) to open Erin Fetherston's A/W 2007 show. Since then the duo (with enigmatically-named guitarist/producer M. Ward) have released two gorgeous albums.
It's been quite a year for Zooey, who seems to be taking a bit of a break from movies to concentrate on music, and recently married Death Cab for Cutie musician Ben Gibbard (we totes covet her wedding band; a very-Zooey eternity ring set with tiny diamonds and pretty pink rubies).
And it looks like this album will be a great way to wrap up 2011 with a cute hipster bow. Like.
