Summer’s not done yet, but in the world of fashion, summer is dead to us already. We’re ALL over the September Issues of the glossies (and we’ve got the arm-ache to prove it) the A/W campaigns, which started coming out ages ago, of course and now the clothes themselves are about to land in the shops. Whoop! This neatly brings us onto this afternoon’s lesson: The Zara A/W Lookbook starring Stella Tennant, with a little bit of help from her friend Hailey Clauson – showing off the slightly younger range, TRF.
Can we just make a bit of a disclosure at this point? We are all, to a woman in this office, hopelessly addicted to Zara. It’s like, OBVIOUSLY, if you earn your living as a fashion journalist you are expected to wear, for example, wooden-soled shoes from an obscure Danish brand, some printed trousers from a hip new underground London designer who you are friends with on Facebook, topped off with a vintage YSL jacket you amazingly procured from eBay for a knockdown price (although you will NEVER reveal your methods)
In reality, we are all dead busy, have limited time and resources and a great big lovely shiny Zara right opposite the shop we buy our lunchtime snacks from, brimming full of easy-fitting, never too fussy, bang-on-trend pieces for nearly always under £100. It’s too good. Styled simply and shot by David Sims, we can already see about five things we want from the look book, and yes, we realise Stella’s face will NOT be available to buy in the Covent Garden store. *sigh*
