First look: Margherita Missoni takes centre stage for Target!

Spotted! The first ad for the upcoming Missoni for Target collaboration has surfaced, in which the luminous Margherita Missoni takes centre stage to celebrate the upcoming collaboration between Target, the giant US home and fashion label, and Missoni, her family company and a brand that surely needs no introduction.

The Missoni for Target collection which is set to include a massive 400 items, priced between $2.99 to $599, (although most items are believed to be priced at less than $40) will include women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, accessories, luggage and homeware from to bed sheets to crockery. Margherita is, of course, the grand daughter of Rosita and Ottavio Missoni who founded Missoni in 1953, is the daughter of Angela Missoni, the brand’s current Creative Director, and is herself an ambassador for the label as well as being an up and coming actress.

As we spotted when the first pics from the shoot were leaked in June, the Missoni for Target collection seems to be a little like a greatest hits of the Italian label, where they’ve cleverly utilized their iconic zig-zag stripe on a whole host of items, at a time when the mainline Missoni collection has moved on from the pattern which made the company’s name, and thusly avoids any annoying crossover drama.

Naturally, we love the ad and at first glance the things we want from this shoot are:

- The luggage

- The scarves

- The cardigans

- The dress

- The male model in the skinny jeans (not sure if he is a part of the collection)

- The Fiat 500 (again, unsure whether this is for sale.)

We had better get saving.
