Balmain’s much heralded second line, Pierre Balmain is now a reality! Here are a few teasy pictures from the first season to whet your appetite. From what we can see, they have kept the Balmain visual signatures of cropped hipster trousers, zippered-to-the-max biker jackets and teeny weeny mini skirts, while aiming their materials and prices and a younger, marginally less affluent clientele.
What do you think of the first pictures? We’re not a zillion per cent convinced by the swirly zebra blouse, but we think the tuxedo jacket would look quite at home in our wardrobe. (And the male model is dishy too) Prices will range from £120 for a T-shirt to £900 for evening attire. Perfect!
PLUS! Not only is there a second line, but with it the company will introduce . . . new shops, according to wwd, Balmain ‘plans to open freestanding boutiques in Hong Kong, Milan, Paris and Rome before the end of the year.’ As well as aiming to get Pierre Balmain stocked in 700 other shops.
Aaaaand, as if that wasn’t enough ambitions to be going on with, they will also be unveiling a new website, around the time of Paris Fashion Week (not long now, kids!)
