So, as Elle Macpherson retires to her suite following the utterly bonkers castings for this season – sorry, CYCLE – of BINTM, we can cast our eyes over the final ladies to make it through bootcamp all of whom are about to face a series of increasingly insane challenges in order to discover which of them will be crowned this year’s Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model. Whoop! We have a former Lithuanian Beauty Queen, a single Mum, a pensioner, by modelling standards (actual age 23) as well as the usual collection of ‘I’m crazy, me’ types and a couple of ‘I’m all about the ART’ girls. We can’t wait! So, the final twelve are:
Anastasia Bogatirjova: From Reading, but brought up Russia. Her fave labels are Louis Vuitton, Manolo Blahnik (amen to that) and she dreads having to do a shoot where she needs to kiss someone. Imagine – kissing a male model. UGH.
Hannah Devenne: Hails from Dublin and since she was spotted by Elle herself on one of this season’s bonkers ‘street castings’ we imagine she’ll go far. Not JUST because Julien and Charley are clearly scared of Elle.
Jessica Etonye: Is positively ancient (in model years) at 23 and comes from London. Her favourite model is Doutzen Kroes, and even though she includes ‘playing World of Warcraft and Tomb Raider’ amongst her hobbies, something tells us she’s going to go far…
Stacey Haskins: Made that fatal error of citing Tyra Banks as her favourite model, but as long as Elle chooses to ignore this slight, we rate her chances pretty highly.
Holly Higgins: Is from Cardiff, and apparently loves ‘balloon sculpting - she can make a dog, a flower and a parrot on a perch.’ And who says BINTM isn’t as glam as ANTM? Hmm?
Ufuoma Itoje: Is from London, and says that Alek Wek is her favourite model. She’s also joined the Visible Women’s Campaign, which was established to help female students to overcome discrimination in the workplace. Charity points; definitely a winner.
Juste Juozapaityte: Is from London, thought she was bright up in Lithuania where she has been modelling since the age of 16, and won Miss Lithuania in 2007. We’re expecting some serious divatude.
Imogen Leaver: Hails from sunny Southend-on-Sea, where she was formerly a promo girl for ‘Sugar Hut’ and describes the charming Kelly Brook as her model icon. Grazia Daily is not ENTIRELY sure how Elle feels about this.
Tanya Mihailovic: Is 23 and comes from Birmingham, where she’s a full-time mum. Her dream photo shoot would be one swimming with dolphins. Now, Grazia Daily has swum with dolphins, and can offer Tanya this piece of advice for nothing: it’s very, very fishy.
Joanne Northey: Is an Art and Craft Student, who cites Karlie Kloss as her favourite model and says her style icon is ‘herself’. Oh puh-lease.
Kimberleigh Spreadbury: Sob story alert - Kimberleigh suffered a broken neck in a horse riding accident but is now back riding and ‘attempting to walk in high heels’. ‘Attempting’ may not be good enough for Elle…
Jade Thompson: Comes from Robbie William’s hometown, Stoke on Trent and was spotted at was spotted at Britain’s Next Top Model Live after putting her name down for the catwalk. See, those things DO work!
Amy Woodman: Is from Norwich, where her hobbies range from knitting to baking ‘crazy’ cakes. Perhaps Holly Higgins could teach her how to make balloon sculptures, too?
Excitingly, this year Grazia Daily is going to grab each of the girls as they leave the BINTM house, postcard of Elle in their hand and tears streaming down their faces. So for the first of our exit interviews, as well as our regular show review, check back with us next Tuesday. Ooh - and as if that isn’t enough excitement, we MIGHT have a very special lady casting her eye over proceedings as well. We’re saying nothing more.
