So, Miuccia Prada, old fashion patron of the arts, just as generations of wealthy successful Italians have been (not to mention an artist in her own right as designer of knee-knockingly innovative fashion every season) has commissioned a second beautiful film in the series, ‘Womens Tales’, this time directed by acclaimed Argentinian director Lucrecia Martel. (The first was The Powder Room, by Zoe Cassavetes)
It’s a kind of shady, noir-ish affair with shades of Alien and Das Boot, except the extremely glamorous protagonists are all impeccably attired in Miu Miu A/W ’11. Beautiful. We like the fact that Miu Miu are giving a platform to auteurs instead of simply spending the money on a glossy, yet meaningless (relatively speaking) campaign video.
The film was screened to a predictably A list audience at a premiere in LA this week. Among the Miu Miu fashbassadors were Hailee Steinfeld in aa MIU MIU blush pink cady silk dress with as pearl and crystal embroidered collar, Diane Kruger a MIU MIU back silk crepe open-back dress with gold and white floral sequin embroidered sleeves and Emma Roberts in a MIU MIU metallic leather, all looking cute as buttons!
