Is the Hervé Léger designer headed for Halston Heritage?

A S/S '11 Halston Heritage dress

Here's a little snippet we noticed in trade paper, Drapers online; 'Marie Mazelis, creative director at luxury brand Hervé Léger and contemporary womenswear label BCBG Max Azria, has left the company after more than ten years.' Interesting? Moderately, so. BUT when we cast our minds back to last week, when the Halston brand was in mid-turmoil SJP, then Harvey Weinstein, then even Marios Schwab, were all revealed to be leaving, or have left the brand, it was the BCBG Max Azria president, Ben Malka, who was rumoured to have been head hunted by Halston's owners to rectify the chaotic situation. (Malka himself has denied that he's working at Halston).

And now one of the womenswear designers from the same company has left their post? Could be a coincidence, we supposed. But we are going to keep a close eye on the situation from now on. Could the bandage bodycon Queen be taking on the house that defined a very different era? Of course, we are getting ahead of ourselves. But if Marie Mazelis can swap from clingy red carpet slippets to swooshy, full skirted disco dresses successfully, then maybe it's not over for the ill-fated brand. How very, very intriguing . . .
