A week rarely goes by without Grazia Daily gushing over Claudia Schiffer's daywear wardrobe. Every time she drops her kidlings off at school, alongside Elle Macpherson and Stella McCartney, the yummy mummy causes a fashion flurry with her casual-chic oeuvre of classic tailoring, snug knits and knee-high boots. So woops and hurrahs can be heard throughout Grazia HQ today with the happy news that the Schiffer's cashmere collection has finally arrived! And is living at www.claudiaschiffer.com.
As you will have seen in the latest issue of Grazia, the new label is already bleeping on our fashion radar. From swing jumpers, cosy oversized cardigans and checked smocks in earthy tones, the 30 pieces are exactly what we want to be wrapped up in this autumn – or, indeed, this summer. Each piece is totally wearable, uber-elegant and fairly priced (ranging from £250 - £1000), which is a welcome surprise amongst celebrity lines typically crammed with glitz and glam. ‘It was important to create something true to my personal sense of style and aesthetic,’ Creative Director Claudia tells us. ‘I would want to wear every piece and be proud of what I was offering to other women.’ Well, mission accomplished.
To celebrate, we've got our mitts on this beautiful video which showcases the sumptuous wares. We’ve loving the horror-movie-heroine vibe as Claudia, in a black cable-knit cape, runs through an eerie forest with windswept locks and dark kohl-ed eyes (seriously, is anyone else reminded of The Blair Witch Project? supermodel-style and sans runny nose, obvs). Considering Mister Schiffer is famous film director Matthew 'Stardust' Vaughn, the cinematic approach is hardly surprising.
So if you want to steal a little of Claudia’s style – and let’s be honest, you'd be mad not to – now you reeeally can as e-commerce arrives on the site from 12th August while the A/W '11 collection will also be available at Net-a-Porter and Harvey Nichols exclusively as of next week. Grazia Daily is convinced we'll look JUST like Bridget Bardot when we pull on that cable-knit cardie...
