On The A/W'11 Campaign Trail: Girl Meet Boy at Dolce & Gabbana

18 July 2011

Traditionally, in mid-July, us Graziettas are bare-legged and boldly flaunting the latest lacy LWD so the last thing on our sunny minds is the black-on-black autumn/winter wardrobes that loom. But not this July. If last weekend is anything to go by, summer 2011 is wetter than our silky kaftan post-Glasto >grumble<

SO let's look on the bright side (every cloud, dears) because the A/W'11 campaigns are landing thick and fast and having seen the snug wares on display, we cannot wait to get our goose-bumped bods into cape coats, cocoon-y outerwear, glossy shearling, bright knits and sharp tailoring.

We’ve already raved about model-of-the-moment Saskia de Brauw for Versace, excitedly reported on the Balenciaga girls in Hogwarts, trembled at Naomi Campbell snarling for Givenchy and swooned over Tom Ford’s Swans getting SPEC-tacular, but what of the rest? Well, today, Grazia Daily brings you a series of the latest ads, so stay tuned and let the campaign trail continue…

Today’s first stop is Dolce & Gabbana for which Steven Klein shot womanly-women and boy-girls lounging around the scrappy but terribly cool streets of New York City. Jac Jagaciak, Liu Wen and Kate King are seen championing the androgynous look in crisp white shirts, porkpie hats and sequined evening jackets while Isabeli Fontana, Maryna Linchu, and Constance Jablonski are their uber-feminine counterparts in corset dresses adorned with that gorgeous star print and sexy lace detailing.

What does this tell us? If there's one thing to be this winter, it's in Dolce's gang. If only we could decide on the gender…
