Here at Grazia, we are as aware of the latest trends as we are of the sun rising in the morning and setting in the evening. HOWEVER, we like to put each new fashion idea through a rigorous process of analysis to see whether or not; a) they will suit us and b) they are even nice in the first place. This time round, we are tackling the problem that has left philosophers and scientists baffled for generations: culottes – are they the last word in chic or a fashion disaster in the making? Here’s the verdict from our crack team of experts. . . .
CHIC: Hannah Almassi, Grazia's Junior Fashion News Editor
Chic! Now that I’m used to the midi, culottes are just the next (and more fashion forward) step. AND you can frolic around in them sans the risk of a undies-baring Marilyn moment unlike other summer skirts and frocks. Just remember – like with any other longer granny-ish hemlines - heels will instantly up the glam factor. Cool-ottes, more like!
EEK: Catherine Nieto, Grazia's Junior Fashion Editor
Eek! I'm not sold, they're not a sexy short nor a dramatic trouser but somewhere in the middle; culottes always look like a palazzo pant that has had the bottom lopped off to me!
