Roland Mouret has a new job!

07 July 2011

Let’s bring the fashion news back to the UK for a minute, after all the Couture hysteria. Well, sort of the UK – we class the designer involved as one of our own. It was announced this afternoon that the very talented, and very successful, Roland Mouret, has been appointed creative director of footwear and accessories at Robert Clergerie.

The designer has collaborated on the shoes in the past, but as the company has been looking to expand globally, Roland is the man to put it firmly back on the map.  ‘It is a great symbol to see such perspectives, with a talent who already knows and loves our company,’ Mr. Clergerie, 76, said in a statement.

Back in the ‘80s and ‘90s, Robert Clergerie shoes were the most sought after by fashion editors, and no doubt Mr Mouret will make them as coveted in his new role.
