'Willy Wonka of Retail' Buys Cocosa!

04 July 2011

It was with a tear in our eye that we bid farewell to Mohamed Al Fayed when he handed in his keys to Harrods this time last year. But – oh happy day – Grazia Daily can report London’s most brilliantly bonkers shopkeeper is back!
Yes, Mr Al Fayed has only gone and bagged another luxury retailer, or rather e-tailer, in the form of Cocosa. Ooh, what excitement! The invitation-only site, and it's treasure trove of designer gems, launched in 2008 and has over 500,000 members to date, making it a very profitable addition to the business tycoon’s portfolio of fabulous companies.

And although we’re not entirely sure how much Uncle Mo’ paid for the site (a fair few pennies probs), we have it on good authority that it's the latest step in his master plan to launch a gigantic online shopping empire... BRING. IT. ON.
