When news broke that Our Madame of Fashion, Carine Roitfeld, was tapped by Uncle Karl Lagerfeld to style Chanel's A/W'11 ad campaign featuring Never-Ending Girl Crush Freja Beha Erichsen Grazia Daily HQ went into overdrive! Karl and Freja we can just about handle but add Carine into the mix and we're talking fashion heaven. How would she interpret Karl's apocalyptic boilersuits (oh, yeah!) in a way that would make us all forget the word 'boiler' and focus on working the look for the next season (well, it looks comfy...)? and would we get smouldering can't-touch-this Freja, frightened Bambi-in-the-headlights Freja or could it be that smiley I-really-don't-want-to-kick-your-ass Freja is here to stay?!
We then found out that an actual photo-booth was involved so we started thinking Amelie and how cute and Parisian that could be and this morning we finally get...Kitty Freja! Now that we never expected but nevertheless, we're in love! A feline Freja, whiskers and all, dressed all in black with two signature Chanel camellias as her cat ears has all the signs of a playful Carine and we couldn't be happier. 'The mix [of Carine] with Freja was genius,' Karl assured WWD in April this year and yet again, Karl we're with you 100%! Genius indeed and as for that boiler-suit, throw in a pair of camellia-kitty-ears and we're sold!
