UPDATE: Kate Middleton Leaves for the Fash Tour!

30 June 2011

AND THEY'RE OFF! The first images of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge off on their Canada and California tour have just landed and Grazia Daily can report the pair are looking super-smart and raaather Apprentice-like.

It was only moments ago that Prince William and Kate Middleton, dressed in matchy-matchy navy Royal blue suits, jetted off on a Canadian Air Force plane from London's Heathrow Airport to Ottawa, and we can't help but wonder whether they've been inspired by well, Barclays bank employees...

Granted, Kate's outfit of a fitted blazer accented by gold buttons over a sleek, knee-length shift dress with complementing court heels is tres sophisticated and reminds us of the Alexander McQueen number she sported last week, remember?

So while our fashion spies scurry to find out exactly WHO designed this chic ensemble, we can confirm K-Mid's bag is Mulberry's Polly Push Lock – yes peeps, our gal's already backing British – woop! Available online for £850, this Midnight Shiny Grain beauty features a leather handle with a front envelope flap closure for a classic vintage touch. Veeery sophisticated, we must say.

UPDATE: Our pals at Net-a-Porter have discovered Kate's wearing a manon silk and cotton-blend dress by Roland Mouret (on sale for £672) under a cutaway-back wool-crepe blazer from Smythe!

But what do YOU think of Tour Outfit No.1, dear readers? Is it a promising sign of what's to come over the next eleven days? Or were you expecting more from our Middy? The box below awaits your verdict...
